Baltic Birch Sheets
Price: $0.00
Baltic Birch is known as a High Density Plywood or HDP.
Unlike common plywood, HDP has many more plies, is generally void free, and uses a stronger species than fir plywood.
Sheets are sold in 5′ x 5′ size squares. For a 1/2″ sheet, there are typically 7 to 9 layers.
Baltic birch has high strength, moisture and and wear-resistance, and high surface quality and integrity. It is highly decorative, has exceptional strength and great screw holding power. The front, back and inner plies are quality one-piece plies. In spite of the odd 5×5 format, Russian Birch plywood has been a very high quality addition to the imported plywood market.
Product Advantages:
Has higher wood density and more uniform plies than in its construction than regular plywood. Because of this, it has excellent machining properties.
The material also has high aesthetic quality asĀ it sands, paints and stains very well to produce outstanding quality finished wood surfaces.
High strength, easy to cut, sand, glue and finish but with better results than with traditional plywood. Baltic Birch is harder than traditional plywood.
Has a smooth finished wood grained surface on both sides of the 5′ x 5′ sheet, virtually free of any gaps and voids in the material. Baltic birch can be considered among the finest types of plywood.
